Not Today Satan!

"Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you."

James 4:7

Moral of the story: Let the Devil know not today!  Whether we like it or not, our lives will be surrounded with negativity from time to time.  But, it is up to us if we want that nasty negativity to impact us.  I'm definitely saying "Get that out of my life!" to negativity, and I encourage you guys too :)  Although it can be challenging to block out the bad, I'm hoping I can help you guys out with some things I've learned.

First of all. in order to block negativity, we must fill ourselves with the light of Christ.  I accomplish this with putting on my "Armor of God" in the morning.  Knowing that my "Armor of God" is on and within me, I feel more ready to tackle the day than when I didn't put this armor on.  Find YOUR "Armor of God".  This can be something physical such as a piece of jewelry that reminds you of God's strength or a verse that you've read.  I always wear my bracelet with a cross engraved in it and my bracelets that have a special meaning from TEC.  If you don't want to wear something, that's totally cool too!  In the morning I also put on the "Armor of God" by reading my bible.  What I like to do is say, "Okay God what do you have to tell me."  I really like reading my bible like this before I read scripture that is of my choice, because I always want God to have the first word of my day.  I want God to guide me, and by giving Him control of what I read first, can teach me what God wants me to do in my life that day.  After reading the word of God and putting my bracelets on, my armor is UNBREAKABLE!

Now, I know throughout the day things can get tough and losing sight of God can be easy sometimes, but this is where we need God the most and want to invite Him in our lives more than ever.  When I come across somebody that isn't the nicest, I ask that the Holy Spirit will shine light into those people's lives.  Both the victim and the person that's not very nice, because they both need some of God's love in their life.  

The Devil will always try to sneak negativity into our lives but, it's up to us if we want to let the negativity in.  God is great at helping people get away from the bad things in their lives.  I encourage you to call out to God and let Him fill your life with the good in this world :)  So with all that being said, join me in blocking out the bad in our lives!
