"Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."
Ephesians 3:20
When I first read this verse, it reminded me of how powerful God is and the glorious things He can do within us. God created each and every one of us to let the good works within shine out and on to the people around us.
Back during a certain time in my life, I would feel the powerful love of God and want to raise the roof shouting praise for God. There were times when all I wanted to do was talk about Jesus and his wonderful works. But, I stopped myself not knowing how others would interpret the information. The last thing I wanted was for others to think that I was boasting or being showy about God like the Pharisees were. In putting my relationship with God in the back corner of my mind, my love for others and God became restricted.
As time went on, I grew into my faith more and my questions about how to let the light of God show through became clear. I didn't have to keep my faith in a box and my love for the people around me and for God became bolder. I found that my love for God was something so special that it should be shared. I learned that love can pour out of me in everything I do, and that's what God wants all his people to do.
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient; bearing with one another in love."
Ephesians 4:2
The things that God's word has taught me are very simple in fact. When people are walking down the hall, I put a smile on my face hoping that someone will find some light for their day in it. I can offer to help someone. By the way, never underestimate the power of helping someone out. Though they may not need it at the time, the gesture of asking them might make them feel cared for and special. My favorite and most valued way of bringing God to others is simply just listening to people as God has listened to me. I love having a good conversation and listening to people because it's a little act of care, but can have big impacts.
I encourage you all to find the special light of God in your lives and let that light break through its box into the lives of others :)
